My name is Chantal Schweitzer and I live in the
Greater Toronto Area. I have been married to my husband Brian (an awesome guy
that I dragged up north from the USA!) since October 2010 and we have two amazing little ones - Liam and Katie. I went to University
of Toronto where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts, then on to Niagara College
where I got my Event Management certification and finally obtained my Bachelor
of Education at York University. Though my dream is to either work as a
classroom teacher, or make a difference working for a charitable organization,
I currently work for my parents Electrical company. The economy was initially tough in those fields but now working from home gives me the flexibility to stay at home with my kids which is mostly incredible (some days are more incredible then others!) I don't know where the future will take me career wise - I am still asking myself at 34 what I want to be when I grow up! - but for now I am enjoying this time because it really does go way too fast!
In my spare time I absolutely love to travel. I am terrified of flying,
but I refuse to let fear affect my passion. I have been extremely fortunate to
have traveled to many places – throughout Canada, the USA and Caribbean,
Mexico, England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Greece, and France. I started
this blog over four years ago, and have detailed some of my travels on it.
I am incredibly close to my family, and can often be found hanging out
with my parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins! Poor Brian married
into a loud, crazy family that insists on celebrating everything! I am an avid
reader, love to write, bake and scrapbook, I go a little crazy during the NHL season
(Go Ottawa Senators! – despite living in Toronto I am no longer a Maple Leaf
fan) and love swimming.
My hopes and dreams for the future are simple – continue being the best mom I can be, eventually find a career of that I am passionate about! (I love my parents and am so proud of
the company, but it’s not my passion!) and to someday own a home. Any progress on those fronts will be posted about here, in
addition to random musings, parenting stuff, product reviews, recipes and of course, travel!
